anyhoo, long long loooonnnngg queue at ICA... here's a "how to spend your time usefully & beat the queue" tip when collecting your passport: 1. Take queue no. 2. Check to see how the queue is progressing 3. Sneak out for a short soak-cum-suntan session at the nearby Jalan Besar swimming complex (10min walk from ICA) 4. Go back to ICA to collect your passport. Head to counter 23 or 24 and tell them you missed your queue no. when it was called (err, you were actually soaking up the sunrays by the pool). Your queue no. will be announced shortly (less than 5min for me) and voila, your new passport awaits!
P/S If you lose your passport, you'll be slapped with a $50 replacement fee, on top of the normal $80 passport fee. However, with a police report, the $50 fee is waived :) So better make a police report if you ever lose *touch wood* your passport or have it stolen by some #$@$%^&^ illicit smuggler!
