Aiyah, the 3 guys who managed to wake up but didn't get to ride cos of the rain, read on to find out what you missed :-p

Review of the ride from 2 Joyriders + me:

Joyrider Sam says:
"Drizzle....I had a debate with myself as I was leaving the house. I saw a mental picture of Joe+rg cycling in the rain and Joshua's voice about WWSKD (what would Seng Kang Joe+rg Do). So I made my way to Longhouse thinking perhaps I would be riding alone today...

Lo and behold, there was gathering of people and some "return of the Jedi" as well...
King of Rock & Roll Joshua
IVO the Beast
Mighty Mite Jap Doll Mika
Iron Johnson
Flying Ironman Nicholas Cheng
Cheap-to-Feed Edmund Choo
Jiffy Spiffy Sharon Teng
Beyond Sunday Sam
It was a sedate pace, though I was still dropped after Mandai Hill, all the way to Mandai Shell station. There, the group waited for me and Edmund Choo (who hang back for me, thanks Edmund) and a decision was made where IVO, Joshua, Sharon and myself rode right towards Kranji.

IVO was pulling all the way, partly for extra training (I think) but mainly for safety reasons (Joshua and Sharon's front lights died). It was really nice to enjoy the cool and quiet ride through Neo Tiew. The pace was still manageable till part way of LCK where I was once again riding alone. The (sub) group was kind enough to wait once again and by the time we hit Boon Lay Shell, another decision was made - IVO, Sharon and I would ride Keppel Flyover.

Once more, IVO, ever the gentleman, pulled at a manageable pace of about 35kmh. Surprisingly, Keppel Flyover was pretty dry despite the wet morning. We hit the junction of Keppel/Cantoment at (ave) 28.4kmh.

After that, we went our separate ways and I, as usual, rewarded myself with the $2/- breakfast set along Thomson Road.

Wonderful recovery ride."

Spiffy says:
"I also got dropped along Mandai. Luckily Joshua was kind and waited for me to catch up :)

Neo Tiew was a bit scary cos of the poor viz + my poor night vision. Thankfully the pace was steady and i could keep the back blinker on Joshua's bike in sight.

Again got dropped at LCK too after Ivo and then Joshua upped the speed but we gathered as a gp after the traffic junction and kept at a slow pace until the flyover. Was panting and legs were protesting trying to draft Ivo and he kept pulling away *groan* Thank goodness Sam saw i was struggling and called out to ask him to slow down and she moved up to let me draft until we could catch up.

Pace slowed as we hit Shenton Way and Ivo turned off towards Orchard while Sam & I rode slowly along Nicoll & Mountbatten, parting at Kallang traffic junction. Reached home 7.45am. Good ride despite the wet weather!"

Joyrider Joshua says:
"A big thank you to the Beast IVO who's so obedient and faithful in leading the string of weaker or still dreaming riders such as us all the way!!...

When the 4 of us turned right from Mandai Sheel... I just can't help but to be reminded of the story of the Beauty and the Beast...

In this case we know who the Beast is... but as for the Beauty, I'll leave it to Sam and Sharon to fight it out... however a word of advice to Sam, please protect your nose well in the fight because it has gone through much traumas in the past already, and since you do not like your nose to look like German Christina's, you better guard it with all your might! :-)

Anyway, as gentleman as one can be, I witness the Beast, offered, somewhere along Jalan Buroh, a rose (in cyclist context... the rear blinking red light) to one of the beauties, and even tie it on her... outside her back pocket! ;-).. and I'm sure if the traffic light did not turn green and he had more time, he would remove another "rose" on his seatpost and offer it to the other Beauty! :-)

Well.. I was just a lamp-post caught somewhere between the beast and the beauties.. but my lights were not bright enough la.. no front light and tail light almost dead!! :-\

Anyway... after the ride.. I ended at a coffee shop too.. but decided that it was not a good idea to sit down and have breakfast when body is totally wet (I got more sense, Sam!!).. so I went home, took a real good hot shower, then.. out I go... Breakfast!! :-)

Although today's ride is not of killer speed... but it is SOoo.... good since I haven't had a good ride for days due to weather and other commitments!"
